Arba Minch University’s University-Industry Linkage and Technology Transfer Directorate has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with South Nations Nationalities and People’s Region Mines and Energy Agency for gemstones mining at Bonke woreda in Gamo Zone. 

Institute of Technology’s Faculty of Mechanical & Production Engineering has hosted a daylong workshop to promote an undergraduate program – ‘Production Engineering’ across Ethiopia in the presence of all stakeholders including delegates from various industries on 30th March, 2019, at New Hall, Main Campus. In a run-up to a new project to be helmed by International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) that would restore degraded ecosystem endangering Chamo Lake and its agro-ecology has hosted inception workshop from 25th to 26th March, 2019, at Emerald Resort, Secha. The deliberated outcomes would provide a roadmap to identify restoration opportunities and duly shape up the interventional strategies.

AMU is bracing up for unique project that in all probability will be a bellwether in restoring Ethiopia’s entire Forest Landscape as Lake Chamo’s deteriorating agro-ecology and its watershed is all set to get total  overhaul.
