College of Business and Economics, the then ‘Faculty of Business and Economics’ came into being in 2003, is one of the university’s founding faculty members. It began teaching-learning process with three key departments i.e. Accounting and Finance, Economics and Management with only 10 instructors and 300 regular and 100 non-regular students.

The college is situated at Chamo Campus; the southern end of Arba Minch in Secha sub-city with sprawling Lake Chamo overlooking it forms the part of East African Rift Valley.

Cognizant of university’s mission, College of Business and Economics is committed to offer relevant and quality education, train, conduct demand-driven and problem-solving research, render accessible community service and establish good governance.

Following decentralization and implementation of Business Process Re-engineering (BPR), the college has been producing qualified graduates by providing education in Four departments (Chamo Campus): namely, Accounting and Finance, Economics, Management and Tourism and Hotel Management, in regular, evening, summer and distance programs at undergraduate and some at graduate levels.
