Arba Minch University’s College of Medicine and Health Sciences will be rolling out its 6th batch of 140 Doctors of Medicine in a graduation ceremony to be held at New Auditorium, Main Campus, on 21st December, 2019, from 8.30 am onwards. Click here to see pictures

College of Medicine and Health Sciences Dean, Dr Tamiru Shibiru, informed that AMU Board Chairman, Dr Yinager Dessie, who is Governor of National Bank of Ethiopia, will grace the function; while AMU officials, kin and kith of graduates, well-wishers, friends, patrons and others will be in attendance. He adds that uniqueness of this 6th graduation is that it has 140 doctors who will be graduating of which 37 are females and remaining males.

The last year’s statistics has it that 5th batch in all had 76 graduates where 19 were females (25%) and 57 (75%) males. While 6th batch of 140 graduates has 84.21% more graduates wherein 37 are females (26.42%) and 103 (73.57%) males. Comparatively this batch has 1.42% more females while graduating males’ number seems to have dipped by marginal 1.43%.
