AMU has organized a daylong talk on ‘Emerging Technologies’ at New Hall, Main Campus, on 11th February, 2021, from 8.30 am onwards. The talk will be delivered by Ethiopian expat, Mr Denekew A Jembere, a senior software engineer with technical giant Microsoft based in USA.

The initiative in this regard has been taken by the office of Academic Affairs Vice President; its incumbent Dr Alemayehu Chufamo, said, our honorable Prime Minister, Dr Abyi Ahmed, in particular and Ministry of Technology and Innovation are giving strong emphasis on this for they are expected to create significant social and economic effects for the good of our society.

He further adds in that regard, it’s imperative for all those whose areas of study is in any way associated with ‘Emerging Technologies’ must avail the opportunity to know and understand as to how such technologies are vitally contributing in changing the socio-economical landscape in United States.

The speaker, Mr Denekew Jembere, is a PhD candidate in Data Science in North Central University of America. He has over 8 years of teaching experience in private and different public universities of Ethiopia and 15 years’ professional experience in implementation of enterprise scale software system and presently working with Microsoft as the Technical Lead on multiple high internal and external customer-facing systems for over 11 years.

The speaker will cover topics such as Cloud and Data Science, Big data, IOT, Azure DevOps and other recent topics in Computing and Information Technology, etc. He will also share recent research ideas especially with those who are likely to pursue PhD study in this stream. All interested staff and students are cordially invited to attend the lecture; AMU top officials are likely to attend the event.
