Giving credence to its community-centric mandate of producing highly skilled professionals in all streams; Arba Minch University has decided to launch over ten new (UG & PG) programs to be run by Institute of Technology and five colleges in the next academic year 2006-7 EC.

Institute of Technology (IoT) in principle has decided to introduce one Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate programs i.e. BSc in Production & Metal Engineering and MSc in Engineering Materials, said the Scientific Director, Dr Negash Wagesho.

College of Natural Sciences is all set to launch MSc in Wildlife Management and MSc in Material Science & Engineering from the next academic year, confirms Dr Serekebirhan.

College of Business & Economics will start two new Masters i.e. MA in Development Economics and MSc in Agricultural Economics. Department of Economics has already conducted internal and external review workshops for ‘MA in Development Economics,’ Mr Mohammad informed.

College of Social Sciences and Humanities will be introducing one PG program in Social Anthropology and UG course in Development Studies, says College Dean Mr Tesfaye Alemu.

In order to strengthen its academic profile, College of Agricultural Sciences will bring in two new PG programs i.e. MSc in Agronomy and MSc in Sugarcane Production Technology, College Dean, Dr Nejib Mohammad, said.

College of Medicine and Health Sciences Dean Mr Behailu Merdkios, revealed, his College would introduce two new UG programs i.e. BSc in Radiology and BSc in Anesthesia from the next academic year.
