Arba Minch University is one of the well known higher learning institutes in Ethiopia providing quality services to its customers for the past 25 years. Aspiring to be one of the leading higher learning institutes in Ethiopia, AMU developed both in physical infrastructures, human resources and in its service provisions to the community. Currently the University runs 37 undergraduate programs and 14 post graduate programs at four different campuses. The current regular student population is about 14,500 of which 30% are female.

 

 

The University offered first and second degrees to over 2,500 graduates in various disciplines on July 2nd 2011 in a very beautiful ceremony on the main campus.  The graduates of the university are from the institute of technology; the college natural sciences; the college of agriculture; the college business and economics and the remaining are from the college social sciences and humanities. Among the graduates 37 are from the school of graduate studies.

Dr. Feleke Woldeyes, Vice President for Academic Affairs and acting President of the University, on the event said that the people of Ethiopia, the University and your parents expect a lot from you. Therefore, you graduates have to deliver services to the community in a responsible manner in the work you will be engaged in.  The Guest of honor his Excellency Dr. Belay Abegaz, Executive director, Children’s Heart Fund of Ethiopia (CHFE)  has expressed his good wish to the graduates in their future life and urged also them to work primarily to the benefit of their country and its people.  It is believed that the graduates of the University will considerably contribute to the development endeavors of the country.
