This slim lad hails from Addis Ababa and lost father quite early, it was his mother, who shepherded and nurtured him through tough and tumbles of life. Ismail is besotted of marketing management for he wants to imbibe nuts and bolts of marketing and loves to go for Master in international leadership in marketing. ‘I want to be international man,’ he says, for the marketing scenario in Ethiopia isn’t that well organized and things aren’t as they ought to be.

On how he could make it up, he said, ‘I enjoy reading and marketing is close to my heart, so whatever I had been doing lappedall and it used to get firmly entrenched and imprinted on my mind. And I am good in reproducing everything after analytical churning that’s how it happened and believe me, I was expecting it to happen with baited breath, for which, I am greatly indebted to God Almighty.

He completed Grade XII from Kokebtsebaha Secondary and Preparatory School in Addis Ababa, and from then onwards, he said,he was inclined towards market trends; things such as how people do business, how do they manage to get profitand how they get going etc. would give him weird thoughts.

Further, he opined, Ethiopian market management needs correction, things such as how products’ pricing are determined; actually, Ethiopia need standard mechanism to monitor ethical and unethical practices exercised by small and big-time merchantsin marketing wares and products that impactlives of people all around and nation’s economy. I feel European business model is appropriate for Ethiopia, he added.

He has a sister and two brothers of which two elder siblings are employed while the last one is in school. He said, I am interested in reading and that’s how I employ my past time and entertain myself.

Giving a piece of advice to forthcoming graduates, he said, ‘‘we must prioritize for what we are here for and what’s our objective is. Never wastetime for its precious, and organize yourself. Don’t get distracted by unwanted stuff because hard work always take you to success otherwise frustration stares at your face all the way; so, decide what you want, it’s your choice that will make or mar your fate, he signed off.
