College of Natural Sciences’ Department of Mathematics has hosted its 1st national symposium on ‘Mathematics for Advancement of Science and Technology’ at Main Campus from 31st May to 1st June, 2019. The symposium saw presentation of 16 research papers of which AMU has 2 and remaining 14 came from 10 different Ethiopian universities.

Arba Minch University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Oxford Brookes University (OBU) to strengthen legal study in School of Law; staff exchange and capacity building are other important activities to be carried out by both parties for the initial period of three years.

Scientific community including researchers, academicians and professionals from across world converged at AMU to deliberate, discuss and share research findings on the most important natural resource that’s water during 19th International symposium on ‘Sustainable Water Resources Development’ from 24-25th May, 2019, at Main Campus. College of Social Science and Humanities’ Faculty of Social Anthropology has initiated a bilateral talk with Prof Gunther Schlee of Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology, Germany, to accord him teaching position in order to strengthen research and academic foundation of AMU’s Master and PhD students.
