Chair Heads

Water Resources and Irrigation Engineering has three chair Heads, who can manage and implement academic and research works at undergraduate and postgraduate studies. All chair head are accountable for the faculty dean.

3. Water Resources Management Chair head

Objective of the Program

At undergraduate level, this program is aimed at training manpower required for the realization of the use of country’s massive water resources potential. Well-qualified Water Resources and Irrigation Engineers will be produced through this program who can actively be engaged in the planning, design, development and management of water resources projects.

At postgraduate level, the program aimed to train a well-qualified potential expertise and researchers for the development of water resources potential in the area of Irrigation and Drainage, Hydrology and Ground water for the country as well as for international community.

Laboratories and Demonstration Areas

Water Resources and Irrigation Engineering faculty have one computer lab for practice of software, two experimental labs for experimental works on the site as well as in the laboratory and one demonstration farm for the students of undergraduate and graduate programs.

Community Services

Faculty can participate and professionally perform community works and services in different water resources and irrigation projects phases along the project cycle, including the following:

• Identification of water resources and irrigation problems of existing infrastructure and elaboration of technically and economically feasible concepts for their solution:
• On-site surveys, pre feasible and detail designs specifications of irrigation and water resources projects
• Preparation of bills of quantities and construction documents
• Assistance in the tender process and contract administration
• Construction supervision, control and approval of contractors’ documents and settlement of claims and disputes
• Operation, management and long-term quality control of water infrastructure
• Training of operational technical staff
