Graduation Ceremony of 2160 Students from both the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes was held at Arba Minch University, Main Campus on June 30, 2012.The graduates are from the institute of Technology and the five colleges of the University. The female students constitute more than 22% of the graduates, 475 out of 2160.

 

On the occasions, the outstanding graduates received diplomas and other awards from the guest of honor his Excellency Ato Tagesse Chaffo, vice administer of SNNPR and the chairperson of the AMU management Board.

Invited guests

Ato Tilahun Kebede, Administer of Gamo Gofa Zone, Dr. Adugna Mekonen, Associate Professor of Mathematics at Maryland University - USA, W/ro Almaz Beyero,head of the SNNPR TVET Bureau and over 30 invited guests from Gamo Gofa Zone,Arba Minch town administration and private sectors attended the occasion.
The A/Presidant of AMU Dr. Feleke Woldyes in his opening speech underlined that AMU’s contribution is so considerable in reliazing the nation’s GTP as the University envisions to become leading higher institution by 2020 and to excel in the areas of water resource development. Accordingly, the university has made meaningful achievements in teaching learning, research and community service in line with its vision particularly in its current strategic period.
The University also offered award of recognition to graduating student from the department of History and Heritage management Mulalem Mesfin Bolado who is currently player of Arba Minch Kenema football Club and the National football team beside his study in the University.
Songs by Gamo Gofa Zone Cultural Music Band and Children from the AMU community school gave color to the ceremony.
The university produced over 19,000 graduates to the national manpower pool in its 25 years of quality education.
