Bio:

Degife Asefa Zebire is Associate Professor of Plant Breeding and Genetics at Arba Minch University, Ethiopa. Currently, he is working as Dean of College of Agricultural Sciences, Arba Minch University, Arba Minch, Ethiopia.

Degife has been a research fellow at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) “in maize improvement program” under the Program Stress Tolerance maize for Africa in collaboration with Pan Africa University of Life and Earth Sciences Institute , University of Ibadan, Nigeria for PhD study from 2017 to 2020.

Degife obtained his Ph.D. in Plant Breeding from the Pan Africa University of Life and Earth Sciences Institute, University of Ibadan, Nigeria.

His professional background is genetic improvement of maize for Striga tolerance. He has involved in several community driven researches and community service activities in the Southern region
