Dr. Awoke is an environmentalist, microbiologist, and biologist with broad research interest in biological wastewater treatment, nutrient removal from waste stream, struvite recovery from wastewater/hydrolyzed urine, alkaliphilic microorganism for textile dye removal, heterocyclic compound treatment using advanced oxidation process (AOP) and biological systems, membrane bioreactor, membrane fouling, analyzing bacterial wilt disease from enset, moringa use as water purification, analyzing metabolites from medicinal plants etc. Dr. Awoke Guadie's research works has been published (>50) in a reputable SCI journals, been cited more than 1640 times, and has an H-and I10-index factor of 21 and 36, respectively (Google Scholar).
