Arba Minch University’s 33rd Convocation to be hosted virtually for its Master graduating class for 2020 at New Hall, Main Campus wherein a few will be officiating the ceremony led by university President, Dr Damtew Darza, Gamo Zone Administrator, Mr Birhanu Zewude, Jinka University President, Prof Gebre Entiso, Arba Minch Town Mayor, other invited guests & officials; while graduates, their near and dears and others can view it via online portals such as Facebook and YouTube from 8.30 onwards at their homes.
Therefore, the University Management has cordially invited all legitimate graduates, their kith and kin, AMU community, patrons, and other stakeholders to virtually enjoy the ceremony. AMU opted for online portals for virtual graduation so that lives of people aren’t imperiled that’s rightly understood by the entire community, says the university communiqué.
The communiqué has further revealed that this year’s Master graduating class has overall 702 graduates comprising of 628 male and 74 female of which 389 hailed from regular mode of education; 17 Evening, 295 from Summer and Weekend mode just has 1 passing through this time.
Correspondingly, there are 1,621 under-graduates who could complete their respective degrees via Regular, Distance & Continuing Education mode; Regular mode saw 366 (253 male, 113 female) UG students passing through, Evening had 69, Summer 581, Distance 77 and Post-Graduate Diploma in Teaching had 528 (377 males & 151 females) graduates. In all this ceremony will see over 2,300 graduates that includes both Master and under-graduates via regular and distance and continuing modes.
