To realize the sustainable development in the nation, the higher academic institutions should work with manufacturing industries, research institutions, governmental and non-governmental organizations both nationally and internationally to share knowledge, skills and resources for successfully attaining their common goals. Arba Minch University (AMU), among the eight public research universities in the nation, has a mission of offering relevant and quality education and training, conducting problem-solving and indigenous knowledge integrated research, and adapting and transferring skills and technologies which have high values to socio-economic development of the community.
Under the office of the Vice President for Research and Community Engagement, the Grant and Collaborative Project Management (GCPM) Director Office has been established. The GCPM office envisions AMU to be among the top leading Ethiopian universities having numerous collaborative projects. The office is also working hard to significantly improve the performance of collaborative projects in the university. We successfully completed a number of projects (see the list of completed projects). Currently, AMU is running more than 30 collaborative projects (see the details here).
To have effective and efficient collaboration with both local and international partners, the GCPM and the UIL-TT Directorate offices jointly facilitate collaborations and partnerships activities with other institutions to sign joint Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
