A pall of gloom enveloped AMU following untimely demise of Dr Anto Arkato; the deceased was given a sort of ceremonial burial with entire town flocking to the cemetery at Debana, Konso on 8th November, 2016.
At this sorrowful time, AMU, in all sincerity upholds heart-felt condolences from Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia’s Ministry of Education, Wolayta Sodo, Gambela and Wolkite universities.
AMU expresses gratitude towards Wolkite University in particular for shifting the mortal remains first to Wolkite Hospital then to Menilik Hospital in Addis Ababa for autopsy; finally, the body was brought to Arba Minch by incurring all expenses. AMU President, Dr Damtew Darza and entire university community highly appreciate the commendable services extended on the occasion.
