Govt. okays PGDT; AMU launches School of Pedagogical & Behavioral Sciences

Arba Minch University has opened the School of Pedagogical and Behavioral Sciences (SPBS) in the academic year (2013-14). AMU Senate’s nod for the same came in June 2014 following Ministry of Education’s approval to begin Post-Graduate Diploma in Teaching (PGDT) program, informed Director of School of Graduate Studies, Dr Anto Arkato.

AMU begins research proposals defense for 2007-8 EC

Water Research Resource Centre (WRRC), Institute of Technology and other five colleges of Arba Minch University have started research proposal defense for the academic year 2014-15.

Three-day Strong-bow Project workshop held in AMU

Strong-bow Project has conducted a three-day workshop at Arba Minch University’s Video Hall from 29th to 31st October, 2014. Around 18 participants from its four partners, Addis Ababa, Jimma, Mizan Tepi and Arba Minch Universities participated in the workshop.

AEEP’s two-day intermediate conference concludes

Applied Entrepreneurship Education Programme (AEEP) trainees have done commendable task by developing market-driven prototypes. We also appreciate Zonal Administration for assisting us in this regard. And the challenges being faced in its first phase would be looked into, said Institute of technology’s Scientific Director, Dr Negash Wagesho, while speaking in intermediate conference held at Lecture Theatre, Main Campus from 15 to 16 Oct, 2014.

IQEC holds five-day instructional skills training for teachers

AMU’s Institutional Quality Enhancement Centre (IQEC) has conducted a five-day instructional skills training for senior and newly recruited university teachers to instill pedagogical skills in them thereby enhancing the quality of education. The training began at Main Campus from October 13, 2014.
