We have to supply educational materials to our students, though we have libraries but demands to own books are rising every day. Therefore, to cater to the needs of those students want to buy books, this book store is a step further; and AMU will provide them at a fare price, said Arba Minch University President, Dr Feleke Woldeyes.
Dr Feleke said this after inaugurating a book store in the Main Campus premises on February 10, 2014. This book store has been started with a donation from one of the UK-based NGOs called - TCS.

Arba Minch University’s physically-challenged students with their superlative performances have won 5 Golds, one Silver and one Bronze medal at the ongoing Haramaya Sport Festival till date.
Two girls, Yimegnushal Wazge, 1st year geography student and Kebebush Moges proved their worth as both bagged two gold medals each in shot-put and javelin respectively.

The core team of Arba Minch University’s upcoming ‘The Grand Kulfo Watershed Project’ in its brainstorming session held on 5th February, 2014, has constituted task forces to head identified project components and also drawn a work plan with timeline that will lead the launching of the project.
