Arba Minch University becomes member of the international Universities Search and Rescue Council.
The signing ceremony held at Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, 30 different international universities of 20 countries became the founder member and signed the document on 24th April, 2012.
Prof.Dr. B.N. Upreti, Nepali expatriate academic staff, who is working in Arba Minch University as professor in the Department of Geology, has signed the document on behalf of Arba Minch University.

Graduation Ceremony of 2160 Students from both the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes was held at Arba Minch University, Main Campus on June 30, 2012.The graduates are from the institute of Technology and the five colleges of the University. The female students constitute more than 22% of the graduates, 475 out of 2160.

The Horn of Africa Regional Environment Centre and Network (HoA-REC/N) through its STRONGBOW (Sustainable TouRism based On Natural resource Management with Gender Balance towards Women) project is calling for quality research proposals. STRONGBOW Project is the Netherlands initiative to build institutional capacity in Natural Resources Management, Tourism and Ecotourism, a Nuffic funded project led by the Horn of Africa Regional Environmental Centre (HoAREC/N) of Addis Ababa University on behalf of the Ethiopian consortium.
