We must strengthen networks to address national challenges through research that drives tangible solutions, he emphasized.

Thomas Torora (PhD), Director of Grant and Collaborative Project Management, highlighted AMU’s role as one of Ethiopia’s eight public research universities. “To achieve sustainable growth, we must collaborate with industries, research bodies, and NGOs to share knowledge and resources,” he stated, underscoring the university’s commitment to problem-solving research and socio-economic development.

Guest speaker Yonas Gizaw (PhD) called for academia to move beyond conventional problem-solving. “Innovation is Ethiopia’s future—research must not only address local challenges but also spur economic growth,” he urged, advocating for academicians to become catalysts for change.

The session concluded with an interactive discussion, enriching perspectives on AMU’s research trajectory. This lecture marks a pivotal step in aligning academic excellence with real-world innovation, reinforcing the university’s mission to drive transformative development.
