Dr. Genaye Tsegaye, Leader of TISP-7, highlighted that the primary objective of the campaign was to raise awareness among the school community, including parents and all community members, about the importance of gender equality and supporting female students in their education. The aim was to address factors contributing to high dropout rates among school girls such as economic challenges, household responsibilities, lack of educational resources, and early marriages.

Mrs. Bayush Tesfaye, Coordinator of TISP-7, outlined the event's comprehensive approach which included screening a documentary on the challenges faced by school girls, presenting preliminary research findings, facilitating discussions with parents and community members to garner support for girls' education, distributing multilingual flyers with ideas for empowering school girls, and providing motivational gifts like t-shirts with empowering messages, exercise books, pens, and pencils to recognize achievement among both boys and girls.

The AMU-IUC Project Manager, Dr. Fasil Eshetu, stated that AMU-IUC firmly believes that every child, regardless of gender, deserves access to a quality education. This school campaign is a testament to that belief. Dr. Fasil revealed that AMU-IUC is currently working on equipping Kemele Oro School with ICT resources including Solar Electricity, Internet Access Computer Lab, and Digital Library through E-learning Resources.

Ato Wondimu Alemu, School Director, expressed appreciation for AMU-IUC's ongoing commitment to the school community such as the positive impact of TISP-7's focus on girls' participation and effectiveness within the school, effective agroforestry best practices demo sites by Research sub-project six (RSP6), and the ongoing effort of TISP1 to equip Kemele Oro School with ICT resources and electricity.
