Arba Minch University (AMU) along with UK Center for Global Health Research (CGHR) held a two day Consultative meeting on grant proposal review from 31st October to 1st November, 2024. Click here to see more photos.

Dr. Endrias Liranso, coordinator of team, presented the major challenges related to Skin Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) in Southern Ethiopia regional state based on his team assessment report. The aim of the meeting was to get feedback on the proposal, reshape it and submit the final to the funding organizations individually or jointly.

Prof. Gail Davey, who is a medical epidemiologist specializing in skin-related NTDs, and manager of CGHR, shared her experience to the team regarding the funding organizations and NTDs. She gave feedback on methodology, literature review, overlapped research questions, objectives, mapping and other gaps of the grant proposal document. Finally, she decided to contribute her part by playing a significant role until the proposal gets completed and submitted.

Behailu Merdekios (Assoc. Prof.), vice president for research and collaboration office and the team member, said in his closing remarks that connected to and working with NaPAN (Ethioian National Podoconisiosis Action Network) is a big opportunity and it is a great honor to have Prof. Gail Davey among the team. We as a team appreciate all the feedbacks given and would like to work together in the future.
