AMU Office of the Vice President for Research and Cooperation in collaboration with Grant Collaborative Project Management (GCPM) office held discussion with scientific directors, deans, finance, procurement and public and international relations executives regarding the implementation of projects and problems facing researchers and project implementers in using grant funds at AMU Senate Hall on 20th December 2024. Dr. ing. Abdela Kemal, Acting President of AMU, during his opening speech, said, that AMU runs a lot of projects and has an office for documentation of all project works. He emphasized we should work hand in hand to bring our university to the front regarding collaborative projects efficient implementation and documentation; furthermore; he underscored for those who work on collaboration and grant funds, AMU is eager to award, reward and certify their effort.
Teklu Wegayehu (PhD), delegate for Vice President for Research and Cooperation office at AMU, called for prompt action to improve the status, prepare guidelines and essential documents. He remarked for those who use laboratories and the likes we should work together towards accreditation and use the opportunity.
Thomas Torora (PhD, ing.) Director for Grant Collaborative Project Management (GCPM) said his office envisions bringing AMU to the top nationally leading numerous collaborative projects and is working hard to significantly improve the performance of collaborative projects and their documentation. AMU successfully completed a number of projects and currently it’s running more than 30 collaborative projects; a web page has been developed to make information available for any one and those who are working on projects to ease the registration on formats posted the web page. Dr. Thomas also presented agendas related to the problems facing in relation to project support units, English translation, and project registration and reporting.
