PROJECT DESCRIPTION
From Crisis to Care: is a targeted intervention designed to provide durable shelter and essential support for the most vulnerable returnees displaced by conflict in Gelabo Kebele, Konso Zone, South Ethiopia Region. Over a seven-month period (June-December 2025), the project will construct sustainable shelters for 100 returnee households, directly benefiting approximately 500 individuals. By improving living conditions and fostering social and economic reintegration, the initiative aims to restore stability and dignity to displaced families. Community engagement is central to the project, ensuring active participation from returnees and local stakeholders in the construction process while prioritizing the most vulnerable. With the proposed financial support from the Gerda Henkel Foundation under its Accompanying Social Measures Programme, this intervention addresses the urgent housing needs of returnees, empowering them to rebuild their lives with security and resilience.
