Arba Minch University has started a weeklong training on broader strategic issues linked to the national growth and higher education for its entire academic and administrative staff from 6th to 10th March, 2017, at Main Campus. Click here to see the pictures.
This time round, the training will revolve around policy documents issued by the Ministry of Education which primarily emphasize on quality of education, national economic growth, peace, democracy and role of higher education institutions in nation building, etc.
As the 2nd quarter of the year is completed, university will evaluate the performances on institute, college, department and individual-level to ascertain how everyone has contributed in their respective capacity for the development and progress of the University.
The training started simultaneously in two halls at Main Campus; training to academic staff' was imparted by the AMU Board Chairman, Dr Negash Wagesho, AMU President, Dr Damtew Darza and others. While the orientation for administrative staff was being carried out by Vice President for Administration, Mr Behailu Merdekios and one of the AMU Board members.
Other important issues that will top the agenda are reforming as to how business is being carried out, restructuring, discussion on six-month performance and the way forward.
