Capacity-Linked water supply and sanitation improvement for Africa’s Peri-urban and Rural Areas
The core objective of CLARA research project is to strengthen local capacities to adopt, implement and operate integrated water supply and sanitation for small communities in rural areas and peri-urban areas, and to contribute to the MDGs and to climate change adaptation in the African water sector.

A team of inter disciplinary researchers from Arba Minch University have been conducting a research project in titled: “Adaptation Mechanisms for Climate Change Impacts on Hydrological Extremes and Crop Production” a case study from Abaya Chamo sub basin.

New Internet Labs have been set up in all AMU campuses to allow access to ICT services and e-learning materials.
The labs have been implemented using a Thin Client computing solution backed by Open Source software which will allow ICT staff to more easily manage computing resources.
