AMU’s physically-challenged students won 5 Golds, 1 Silver, 1 bronze

Arba Minch University’s physically-challenged students with their superlative performances have won 5 Golds, one Silver and one Bronze medal at the ongoing Haramaya Sport Festival till date.

Two girls, Yimegnushal Wazge, 1st year geography student and Kebebush Moges proved their worth as both bagged two gold medals each in shot-put and javelin respectively.

Grand Kulfo Project team holds meeting to thresh out modalities

The core team of Arba Minch University’s upcoming ‘The Grand Kulfo Watershed Project’ in its brainstorming session held on 5th February, 2014, has constituted task forces to head identified project components and also drawn a work plan with timeline that will lead the launching of the project.

Kaizen to usher in positive change in AMU, says Dr Kassa

Arba Minch University, as an organization has lot to do, we have to change the attitude of our employees by inculcating positive thinking in them thus improving the work culture. So, Kaizen – a systematic approach to change day today’s activities will make us believe that there is much more to do. The management has to have commitment for its implementation, said the Vice-President for Administration and Development, Dr Kassa Tadele.

They incessantly battle against their own disabilities that ultimately make them tenacious. But, often their hopes get belied when their loved ones desert them, system turns a nelson’s eye to their lot and the dawn of happiness refuses to set in. Yet, they don’t give up; their fortitude and perseverance keep them going against all odds all the time and every time!

Fleet-footed boys dribbling deftly, scampering with the ball, nudging it back quickly; dodging amazingly and cruising at the goal post at one corner, gritty girls honing defense techniques and some holding javelin, discus, shot-put and few running around the stadium will make you feel as if preparation for the big battle is on.
