191 Arba Minch University students donate blood

Total 191, Arba Minch University students have donated blood in a camp organized at Nechsar, Abaya and Main Campuses, on different dates.

In a three-day camp jointly organized at Main Campus, by Arba Minch University Charity Club and Arba Minch Blood Bank, South Nations Nationalities People’s Region from 13th to 15th January, 2014, 97 students have donated blood.

IoT, TVET venture into low-cost housing, tech transfer, research

‘‘The ultimate objective of Arba Minch University’s Institute of Technology (IoT) and Arba Minch Technical and Vocational Education and Training College’s (TVET) collaboration is to enhance technology transfer. Till date, we were in research and acquiring theoretical knowledge, but now it’s time to translate it into practice for the benefit of the community,’’ said the Scientific Director, Dr Negash Wagesho.

Everybody is responsible to assure quality education: Dr Feleke

AMU may start competence centre on renewable energy: Dr Guchie

‘‘I hope, we can start working on establishing a competence centre on renewable energy in Arba Minch University. And with Ethiopian government supporting this kind of endeavors, we can definitely start one where we can think of harnessing the potential of hydro, solar and wind power with the required system in place,’’ said Vice-President for Research and Community Service, Dr Guchie Gulie.
