Many delegates from all around Ethiopia would be expected to take part in this symposium of two days.

Holistic agricultural approach, the way out: Dr Feleke
‘‘Agriculture is one of the greatest accomplishments, the world has ever seen. But, due to spilling population and expansion weakness in the recent century our available resources have become scarce that led to calamity such as disaster, our country faced in 1974,’’ said the AMU President, Dr Feleke Woldeyes.
Dr Feleke was speaking at the daylong 1st Annual Symposium on 'Integrated Agricultural Development and Food Security’ at Lecture Theatre, Main Campus, on May 27, 2013. Ministry of Science and Technology & Arba Minch University have jointly organized the meeting.

June 7th Arba Minch: A gender sensitization program took place on June 6th from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm in AMU premises, Miss Munit Director Gender office says. The teachers, students, and administrative staff of AMU participated in this and there was a panel discussion on sexual harassment. The speakers have strongly exhorted to put to end this harmful practice of harassing women in general. A magazine prepared by gender office and Girls Club of AMU was released and Dr. Feleke Woldeyes, the President of AMU presented opening speech stressing the need for this meeting and Dr. Agana Vice President of Academic Affairs AMU presented closing speech laying emphasis on gender sensitization. There is a code of conduct was mentioned for everyone to follow and this has to be implemented, everyone agreed. Finally, the audience were presented to entertainment of gender poems and reading of literature.

Arba Minch 10th June 2013:The second day of Thanksgiving function for students was on Friday, June 7th 2013 and it was for students who took part in sports festival conducted from Feb 17th to March 3rd 2013. The President of AMU Dr. Feleke Woldeyes, Dr. Yechale Kebede Bizuneh Dean continuing education office and others of AMU had participated. Dr. Feleke stressed the importance of the day for the students and asserted the students to work hard in studies and sports. Certificates were distributed to successful participants and awards were given to special students who showed commitment and dedication during the sports festival. Refreshments were served and zone cultural band played music
The third day of thanksgiving Saturday, 8th June was for administrative staff and Dr. Feleke Woldeyes, the President and others participated and distributed certificates. Award was given to a driver Mr. Barhanu Guma for meritorious service. This was followed by music as well as entertainment and all had danced to the occasion as it was a joyous and a happy event .
People can recollect and rejoy these three days of fun and rededication to work and duty on this thanks giving festival.
