The SIFA JOB-FEET Enset Project, led by Arba Minch University (AMU) under the guidance of AUDA-NEPAD, has concluded a five-day intensive hands-on training on enset fiber crafting for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Hawassa, Sidama Region. Funded by the European Union and the German Development Bank (KfW), SIFA JOB-FEET Enset Project conducted the training from December 22–27, 2025, benefiting 36 participants, the majority of whom were women, drawn from three local SMEs. The program equipped trainees with practical skills to transform enset fiber into marketable craft products, strengthening female employability and entrepreneurship. Click here to see more photos.

በሀገራችን ከሚገኙ አንጋፋና ስመ ጥር ዩኒቨርሲቲዎች መካከል አንዱ የሆነው አርባ ምንጭ ዩኒቨርሲቲ የውኃ ቴክኖሎጂ ኢንስቲትዩት ሆኖ ከተመሠረተበት 1979 ዓ/ም ጀምሮ ከ84 ሺህ በላይ ብቁ ምሁራንን በመፍራት ለሀገራችን የሰው ሀብት ልማት የበኩሉን እየተወጣ ያለ አንጋፋ እና ሰመ ጥር ተቋም ነው፡፡ በአሁኑ ወቅት እንደ ሀገር የምርምር ዩኒቨርሲቲ እንዲሆኑ ከተለዩ ስምንት ዩኒቨርሲቲዎች መካከል አንዱ የሆነው አርባ ምንጭ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ባሉት ስድስት ካምፓሶች ከመጀመሪያ እስከ ሶስተኛ ዲግሪ በርካታ ተማሪዎችን ተቀብሎ እያስተማረ ይገኛል፡፡

Academic and technological cooperation between Ethiopia and China continues to deepen as Arba Minch University (AMU) and China’s Yellow River Conservancy Technical University (YRCTU) successfully implemented a joint training program in Chinese language and Water and Hydraulic Engineering. The three-week program, conducted from December 2 to 19, 2025, took place at AMU’s main campus and engaged students from the Hydraulics and Water Resources Engineering disciplines. Arba Minch University (AMU), through the AMU-IUC Project, successfully conducted a one-day workshop under the TISP7 project focusing on advancing gender inclusion in outreach initiatives with leaving no one behind principle across sub-projects I to VI. The workshop held at AMU-IUC Video Conference Room, main campus, on 19th December 2025, brought together project leaders, coordinators, and gender focal persons to review progress, identify gaps, and agree on strategic actions for the remaining project period. Arba Minch University (AMU), in collaboration with Alabaster International and DeepImpact, officially began practical field-level implementation of the first-of-its-kind Enset Mobile Application today, December 20, 2025, in Chencha Zuria Woreda, Dorze. The pilot involves ten trained Enset Ambassadors working directly with farming communities and marks a major step in applying digital technology to strengthen Ethiopia’s Enset sector.
